NOTICE OF FIRST READING <br>Thompson-Nicola  NOTICE OF FIRST READING  Thompson-Nicola Regional District    ZONING AMENDMENT    TAKE NOTICE that the Thompson-Nicola Regional District proposes to amend Zoning  Bylaw No. 2400, 2012.  The proposed Zoning Amendment Bylaw No. 2841, 2024, increases the maximum permitted  residential density of low-density neighbourhoods in order to comply with the new Provincial  legislation (Bill 44, widely referred to as the new “small-scale, multi-unit housing” legislation).  Bylaw No. 2841 will enable secondary suites on all lands in the WR-1, LR-2, RA-2, CD-2, CD-3,  and CD-4 zones. Secondary suite parking and condition of use requirements are also included in  the bylaw amendment.  The Thompson-Nicola Regional District will consider first reading of the proposed amendment on:  Thursday, May 16, 2024, at 1:30 pm  TNRD Boardroom  4th Floor, 465 Victoria Street, Kamloops, BC  This publication serves as notice that no public hearing will be held for the proposed zoning  amendment. Provincial legislation prohibits local governments from holding a public hearing for  the sole purpose of amending a zoning bylaw in order to comply with the new Small-Scall MultiFamily Housing legislations (see Local Government Act, section 464(4)).
