NOTICE OF FIRST READING    Notice is hereby given that First Reading of  “Zoning Amendment Bylaw No. 1074, 2024  (Small Scale Multi-Unit Housing)” will take place  during the Village of Burns Lake Council Meeting  on May 21, 2024.  Zoning Amendment Bylaw 1074 amends “Village  of Burns Lake Zoning Bylaw No. 880, 2008” (the  Zoning Bylaw) to:  • allow a minimum of two dwelling units per  parcel within all residential zones;  • amend the definition of duplex and add  definitions for triplex and fourplex;  • remove size restrictions on secondary suites;  • move residential use with restrictions from  principal use to accessory use within the C1  and C2 Zones; and  • align building height and rear yard setbacks  to the provincial recommended standard for  residential zones.  Recent changes to the Local Government Act  require local governments to allow in their zoning  regulations:  • at least one additional housing unit (a  secondary suite) within a detached dwelling  that would otherwise be a single-family  dwelling, or  • at least one additional housing unit within  another building on the same parcel or  parcels of land on which a detached singlefamily dwelling is located in applicable zones.  The amendments to the Zoning Bylaw contained  in Bylaw No. 1074 are proposed to meet these  provincial requirements, align with the Provincial  Policy Manual and Site Standards, and support  residential development within the Village.  Any persons who believe that their interests may  be affected by the proposed bylaw may provide  a written submission to the Village Office at 153rd Avenue, Burns Lake, BC; by mail to P.O. Box  570, Burns Lake, BC, V0J 1E0; or by e-mail to  village@burnslake.ca. Written submissions must  be received by the Village of Burns Lake no later  than May 21, 2024 at 1:00 P.M. to be ensured of  consideration. Canadian Navigable Waters Act <br>Lucky  Canadian Navigable Waters Act  Lucky 1’s Oyster Co. Ltd. hereby gives notice that an application has been made  to the Minister of Transport, pursuant to the Canadian Navigable Waters Act  for approval of the work described herein. The proposed work is to replace an  existing authorization for shellfish aquaculture rafts with floating culture units  occupying the same general location and footprint in Nanoose Bay waters  Southeast of Garry Oak Dr.  Lucky 1’s Oyster Co. Ltd. has deposited a description of the work under registry  number 9693 on the on-line Navigable Waters Registry. DUST CONTROL PROGRAM <br>2024 <br>County  DUST CONTROL PROGRAM  2024  County residents requiring dust control on roads adjacent to  their property can select either calcium chloride or oil to be  applied to the road surface.  This year applications will be accepted starting April 1/24  and closing May 17/24. There will be only one round of  application starting May 27/24 weather permitting.  This season there will be a subsidy of $275.00 available per  residence for Calcium. The County will supply the grader to  do the work and any water or gravel that is necessary to make  the application work.  Calcium Chloride will cost $1.35 per foot (plus GST). Minimum  of 400’ required. Cost to resident would be $278.25  Oil based on 400 ft. $10.73 per foot (plus GST). This amount  will vary as supply demands change. Minimum of 400’ required.  Cost would be $4294.40 the County will rebate $2.00 per  foot, so the cost to resident would be $3494.40 (plus GST).  If you are interested in this service, arrangements for stakes to  be picked up and payment for the application can be made at  the time of the request with Lorna at the Ponoka County Office.
