Millwright - Certified/TQ Chemainus, BC, CA POSITION OVERVIEW Western Forest Products is seeking Millwrights with industrial experience, preferably in the Forest Industry, to join our sawmill operations located on beautiful Vancouver Island, BC. T his position is available at our Port Alberni, Duke Point, Chemainus, and Cowichan Bay sites. The position requires the ability to work on a variety of shifts, including day, afternoons and graveyard or weekend shifts. WHAT WE OFFER Unionized USW positions with a wage rate of $44.43 for fully certified millwrights. Benefits and pension are offered through the USW. RESPONSIBILITIES Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent, Millwrights are required to safely perform quality work, provide support services, and perform preventative maintenance processes that pertain to optimum mechanical performance of our facility including, but not limited to: Repairs or replacements of mechanical components machinery Rigging and slinging Troubleshooting mechanical machinery Welding repairs Hot work and lock out protocols Knowledge of hydraulic systems QUALIFICATIONS Excellent safety record and strong work ethic Preferred candidates will be Red Seal Certified. Other Trades/Engineering Certification with proven mechanical maintenance and repair experience may be considered.
