WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR? We are seeking responsible and energetic candidates that want to work in a team environment with opportunities for growth and development. The Heavy Duty Mechanic will work as part of a team providing quality operational repairs and preventative maintenance services. As a member of this high performance team you will be responsible for all machinery and duties including: Maintain mobile equipment, Boom Boats, heavy logging (loaders, grapple) and forklifts for proper performance and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions; Diagnose faults or malfunctions using deduction and testing equipment to determine extent of repair required; Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components or systems, using hand and power tools; Test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets specifications; Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment. WHAT WE NEED? Previous experience in a Saw Mill or heavy industry preferred Ability to take direction is required Commitment to working safely coupled with strong communication interpersonal skills Have CSA approved safety steel toed boots Good interpersonal skills and communication Ability to analyze and troubleshoot Enthusiastic and positive attitude Be able to perform physically demanding work (up to 50lbs) Ability to work in a team environment Ability to work with minimal supervision Punctuality and Reliability WHAT SHOULD YOU EXPECT? Environment: Required to work in a fast-paced environment Scope and duties of this position may change periodically The volume of work: Depending on production requirements, team members may be assigned alternate duties and additional responsibilities Physical Requirement: Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
