Job Title: Community Connection Advisors Hourly wage: $24.48 - $28.52 Location: Prince Rupert, Haida Gwaii Schedule: Monday to Friday Terms: Permanent Full-time position Start date: April 1st, 2023 About us: North Coast Community Services Society has a position available for an individual who possesses the fundamental belief that each of us matters - our clients, our co-workers, our partners and ourselves. Position Summary: Build networks for people by using a person-centered approach, the values and practices of Asset-Based Community Development, and social innovation. Summary of Experience requirements Education & Training: Diploma or equivalent education/ experience in the area of Social Services or equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Experience & Proficiencies: Identify and connect to people, places, and groups that will appreciate assets of children and youth with support needs and their families Identify policy, procedural, or structural changes needed within the service delivery system in order to support their work in the community Develop and maintains relationships with children and youth with support needs and their family. Facilitates a variety of community connections between children and youth with support needs and their families - such as 1:1 meetings, providing resources, organize, mentor, role model - focusing on choice and control for people with disabilities and overall principles of self-determination. Participate in training and professional development as well as access resources related to families and children that contribute to inclusion and engagement in life in ways that are meaningful to the family Modify planning processes and support frameworks so that they reflect an asset-based approach to individuals and community Other Requirements: Class 5 driver's licence, clear driver's abstract and daily access to and use of vehicle Comprehensive organizational skills while working with limited supervision Understand, demonstrate and maintain professional boundaries with co-workers, clients and other stakeholders Clear Criminal Record review To apply for this position submit your cover letter and resume to careers.nccs@citywest.ca to the attention of Audrey Parnell, Executive Assistant.
