V0J 1P0 (T) (250) 996-7171 (F) (250) 996-8010 JOB POSTING CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER Nak azdli Development Corporation Nak azdli Whut en is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the position of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) with Nak azdli Development Corporation (NDC). The CEO shall be responsible for the overall management of NDC s operations, financial matters, employees, assets and all subsidiaries, partnerships, joint-ventures and negotiations. The CEO reports to the Board of Directors and is responsible for ensuring that NDC operates in a most efficient manner and generates wealth and benefits for further growth. NDC s role is to pursue business and economic opportunities that align with the strategic objectives of NDC in a manner consistent with the values and principles of Nak azdli Whut en. DUTIES: Ensure all current, and proposed, business ventures, contracts, plans are professionally managed, developed, updated as needed and monitored to realize the NDC vision. Work within the 5-year strategic plan containing strategic goals by gathering pertinent business, financial, service, and operations information; identifying and evaluating trends, options, choosing a course of action, and defining objectives and evaluating outcomes. Coordinate and lead the negotiation of NDC s interests with industry, stakeholders governments. Develop and implement annual operating plans, budgets and strategic updates based on the economic environment, forecasts and opportunities. Facilitate employee performance by communicating job expectations, planning, monitoring, and evaluating job results, best practices, policies, procedures, and productivity standards. Establish and maintain positive relations with industry and government officials. Foster an environment that supports professional growth opportunities for employees. Develop and regularly update the NDC business plan and subsidiary business plans. Provide recommendations to the Board and to the Nak'azdli Whut'en Chief and Council on resources that support community economic development, small business development and Nation building. QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum of bachelor s degree with a focus in business, public administration, human resources, political science or finance, with preferably MBA or similar degree. 10+ years of senior management experience, including operational and administrative management in a First Nation s setting. Strategic management skills in a First Nations environment Solid experience in financial management and reporting requirements. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills. Strong knowledge of Information Systems and various software systems (ie MS Office) Possess a valid Class 5 BC Driver s Licence and clean drivers abstract. Candidate will be required to provide an acceptable criminal record check as a condition of employment.
