PATIENT CARE COORDINATOR, EMERGENCY Community : 100 Mile House Rate of Pay : $42.25 - $51.78/hr Status : Permanent Full Time If you have great communication and problem solving skills, and have nursing experience in a rural environment, we have a great career opportunity that is based in 100 Mile House. This position qualifies for a $10,000 rural recruitment signing bonus. The PCC is responsible for the coordination of day to day operations and quality patient care within the emergency and medical areas. This position supports the seamless movement of patients through the healthcare system and in accessing appropriate resources. The PCC supervises as well as serves as a role model and a resource to staff for clinical decision-making, clinical assessments of patients and in the counseling and education of families. Reviews, analyses and makes recommendations on the development of administrative systems such as policies, procedures and standards of patient care, adequate staffing levels, and a continuous quality improvement environment. Liaises with the interdisciplinary team for identification, coordination and efficient utilization of resources as well as plans for staff educational needs. The successful candidate will be a critical thinker, strong communicator, advocate and able to work independently and in a multidisciplinary professional environment. Qualifications Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing, advanced preparation in the emergency specialty, three years of recent related clinical experience in the assigned practice environment and two years recent supervisory and teaching experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM). Current CPR certification required.
