Overview Fort St James Forest Products is a brand-new sawmill/planer mill complex that is targeted to start production in 2022. We are looking for hard working and dynamic individuals to be a part of our team As a member of the Woodlands Team, based out of Fort St. James, BC, you will be responsible for the ongoing supervision, coordination of logging and road construction operations and other forestry related activities to ensure the safe and timely delivery of logs to our sawmill in Fort St. James. Key Responsibilities and duties will include: Overseeing and supervision of logging and road construction and maintenance contractors Implementing Hampton s safety, environmental and forest certification plans Government, community and First Nation s Liaison Monthly and annual work scheduling and corresponding budget preparation. Contractor rate negotiations for logging and road maintenance contracts Assisting in coordinating forestry and silviculture activities The ideal candidate is a team-orientated individual with the following qualifications: Registered (or eligible for registration) as a Forest Professional with the ABCFP. Strong communication and interpersonal skills Able to work independently and in a team environment, both in the field or the office, on a number of diverse tasks. Proven analytical, organizational and project management skills A sound understanding of what is fundamentally required for safe, productive and environmentally effective forest operations.
