The Opportunity As a Heavy Equipment Operator you will be responsible for the efficient and effective operation of an excavator coupled with moving and loading trailers. This shift is five days a week, (Monday - Friday) eight hour per day. Job Duties Primarily operates excavator and shunt truck, with potential to also operate other heavy equipment such as, roll off trucks, screeners, loaders, grinders, and other stationary equipment Move and load trailers. Verifies the equipment is in working order through daily pre and post inspections Perform daily maintenance and cleaning activities Actively participate in safety meetings and safety culture Actively participate in refuse pick-up on site Other duties that may arise as assigned by supervisor or members of the Management Team. Required Experience 5+ years of Operating Cat controlled Excavators. Heavy Duty Equipment (skid steer, wheel loader, grinder) an asset. Work experience in the waste, recycling or environmental services industries an asset, however not a requirement Clean Drivers Abstract - Class 1 license Mechanical aptitude coupled with strong hand/eye coordination Strong communication and interpersonal skills Proven ability to multi-task ability to prioritize tasks Responsible individual with positive attitude and sense of pride Customer service focused and supportive of co-workers Self-starter with strong work ethic and attention to detail Safety conscious To apply, please visit https://gflenv.com/career/ To listen to a live presentation January 31st, 2022 at 1:00pm and learn more about the above opportunity please visit; https://events.blackpress.ca/greatervictoria to register.
