JOB DESCRIPTION The purpose of this job description is to provide you with some introductory information about Bosley s Oak Bay/Smitanjali Ent. Ltd. (the Company ) the expectations of the position. JOB TITLE: Supervisor JOB REPORTING TO: Assistant Store Manager(s), Store Manager(s) and Franchise Business Owners PROBATIONARY PERIOD: 4 Months from Start Date START DATE: DEPARTMENT: Store Operations LOCATION: 2154 Oak Bay Ave., Victoria, BC OPERATING HOURS: Mon to Sat: 8am-10pm Sun Public Holidays: 9am-7pm JOB SUMMARY: Customer Service Sales Associate will assist the store management team in the overall operation performance of the store, which includes sales, merchandising, operations, supervision adherence to all company guidelines procedures to ensure efficient daily operations. Job Specifications (Minimum qualifications necessary for an individual to be considered eligible for the position): Essential Duties Responsibilities Perform all duties of a Customer Service Sales Associate by going above and beyond Ensure each customer receives outstanding service by greeting acknowledging every customer, maintaining solid product knowledge all other aspects of customer service Takes ownership of Shift Starter Drive for sales, service, results, meet performance expectations goals for the store Respond to customers complaints quickly, effectively courteously request additional management assistance as necessary to resolve Elevate store-specific concerns to Store Manager Support onboarding training of new associates Support CTA (Call to Action), flyer planogram execution Maintain an awareness of all promotions advertisements Maintain cleanliness of the store Maintain cleanliness well-being of all livestock including animal care feeding, if applicable Support cycle counting, freshness tracking, inventory management, store ordering write off s Assist in planning execution of events Assist in floor moves, facing, merchandising, display maintenance, housekeeping Assist in processing, replenishing merchandise monitoring floor stock Adhere to all policies procedures mentioned in the staff file Competencies Maintain a high level of professionalism positive attitude in the workplace, including conducting oneself in an appropriate manner when communicating verbally, in writing or by email Demonstrate a calm demeanor during periods of high volume, events manage smooth transitions to keep store operating according to Pet Valu Standards Excellent customer service, training merchandising skills Possess outgoing friendly personality with strong customer service skills Possess strong verbal communication listening skills, both in person on the phone Possess ability to read, interpret documents properly complete necessary paperwork Ability to work efficiently effectively, independently in a team with minimal supervision Ability to take initiative handle various tasks simultaneously Accountable trustworthy Possess basic mathematical skills Work in a fast paced rapidly changing working environment Not engage in unnecessary gossip at the store Maintain a positive work culture Enjoy working with the public Education and/or Experience Previous sales, retail or customer service experience preferred Working knowledge of Point-of-Sale (POS) system preferred Strong competency in sales, products and services preferred Job Expectations Attendance Requirements Customer Service Sales Associates are required to be available in mornings, days, evenings, weekends and/or holidays which includes at least 1 opening and 1 closing shift per week, order receiving days, scheduled events such as Pet appreciation scheduled busy shopping seasons such as Christmas New Years as per business requirements. Part Time associates are required to work approximately 10 to 35 hours per week. Full Time associates are required to work up to 40 hours per week. Shift changes and requests for time-offs and vacations must be informed 4 weeks in advance and shift unavailability must be informed 24 hours in advance. Training The training program will consist of on-the-job-training. Online learning must be completed within the probationary period. Dress Code Policy Staff Uniform Employees are expected to wear appropriate attire at all times during their shifts. Inappropriate attire (i.e. offensive, revealing, etc.) is not allowed. Employees will be provided with a company uniform which must be kept in good condition and must not be taken out of company premises at any times. Company Uniform must be returned upon request. Personal Electronic Items Cell Phones and other personal electronic items must be stored with the employee s personal belongings at all times while at work. Store employees may only carry a personal cell phone with the prior approval from their manager. At no time is the Company responsible for the loss or theft of such items or any personal items. While performing job duties, you will be expected to maintain open communication with customers, colleagues, and upper management. Physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of his/her job such as regular lifting of up to 50lbs, standing for extended periods of time, climbing ladders, bending, reaching, kneeling, stooping, squatting, and reaching over your head. Payroll/Salary Payments Hours worked from 1 st to 15 th from 16 th to 30 th or 31 st will be paid 3 business days after the 15 th 30 th or 31 st.
