NOTICE OF PUBLIC REVIEW AND  NOTICE OF PUBLIC REVIEW AND  COMMENT PERIOD FOR FOREST  OPERATIONS MAP #1359  West Fraser Mills Ltd. has prepared a Forest Operations Map (FOM) #1359 for the  Stuart Nechako Resource District. This FOM is available for public review and comment  from April 18, 2024 to May 21, 2024. This FOM is available for review at Fraser Lake  Sawmills, 6626 Highway 16 East, Fraser Lake, BC during the business hours of 7:30am  to 4:30pm or on the Forest Operations Map (gov.bc.ca) website.  This FOM identifies the location of proposed cutblocks and roads, thinning operations,  and the timing of these proposed operations. The FOM is a requirement under the  Forest and Range Practices Act and is intended to enhance transparency of operational  planning and to provide engagement opportunities for interested members of the public  and community stakeholders. PUBLIC NOTICE <br>“District of Kitimat  PUBLIC NOTICE  “District of Kitimat Council Procedure Amendment Bylaw No. 2047, 2024”  Pursuant to sections 124 and 94 of the Community Charter, the District of Kitimat is considering changes to  the Council Procedure divisions in the Kitimat Municipal Code.  In summary, the District of Kitimat is considering the following procedural changes:  •    Subdivision 7 - Delegations  o    •    Subdivision 12 – Public Input / Questions on Agenda Items, Questions and Answers and Media  Inquiries  o    •    The proposed change would not allow delegations in instances where Council has resolved not  to hold a Public Hearing or where Public Hearings cannot be held. (LGA S. 481.3)    The proposed change would allow Public Input, in limited circumstances, on topics where  delegations are not allowed.    Subdivision 4 – Adjourning Meeting Where no Quorum  o    The proposed change would allow 15 minutes for quorum to be established prior to a meeting of  Council being adjourned, this change would increase from the current 10 minute waiting period. DISTRICT OF KITIMAT <br>REQUEST FOR  DISTRICT OF KITIMAT  REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS  KITIMAT MUNICIPAL  LANDFILL OPERATIONS  2024-2029  CONTRACT No. 451  The District of Kitimat invites qualified and  experienced Contractors to provide services  for the daily operations and maintenance of the  Kitimat Municipal Landfill. It is the intent of this  Request for Proposals (RFP) to secure labour  and equipment for daily operations of the Kitimat  Municipal Landfill for a five (5) year period starting  July 1, 2024, and subject to mutual satisfaction  of services provided, an additional two (2) year  extension could be offered.  The Kitimat Municipal Landfill is a solid waste  disposal facility and forms part of the Kitimat  solid waste management system for the service  area. The Landfill facility receives residential and  commercial refuse as well as select recycling  materials as outlined in the Municipal Code,  Part 7, Division 2.  The work to be performed under this contract  includes placing, compacting, and covering of solid  waste and ancillary services including extraction,  stockpiling and placing soil for cover purposes.  Other works included are scale operations,  collection of tipping fees, and site maintenance  to meet all requirements under the Operational  Certificate (OC) for the Kitimat Municipal Landfill.  The RFP Documents may be obtained on, or after  Monday, April 22, 2024 from the District of Kitimat  Engineering Services Department upon request  (engineering@kitimat.ca).  A Site Meeting will be held for all interested  proponents on Monday, April 29, 2024 @ 1:30 pm  local time at the City Hall/Kitimat Municipal  Landfill. This meeting is mandatory.  All Proposal Documents must be submitted to  the District of Kitimat Engineering Department  by Thursday, May 16, 2024 at 4 pm (local time)  accompanied by a certified cheque or bid bond  in the amount of 10% of the total bid price as  security deposit. These provisions introduce new planning requirements for forest stewardship  plan holders- Namely a requirement for licence holders to publish their operating  plans with approximate locations of new cutblocks and roads, with estimated year  of harvest.
