Overview The Residential Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the residential unit(s) of GHS, including but not limited to: the direct supervision of residential staff, performance management, participation in recruitment and retention, scheduling, and on call duties. The Residential Supervisor is responsible for the safe and secure operation of the program(s), ensuring compliance with all policies, procedures, and contracts, for all funding sources. Also provides effective leadership to motivate and guide staff toward the successful accomplishment of established program goals and objectives. KEY DUTIES: * Displays conduct consistent with the highest standard of job responsibility positively and appropriately promoting GHS reputation and organizational profile in the community. Develops, implements and evaluates client goals, objectives policies and procedures and ensures compliance with standards are maintained. Identifies both physical and program needs of clients to appropriate authority. Plans for staff changes Schedules, supervises and evaluates residential staff, monitors daily housing/unit operations. Assists in recruitment, and retention. Provides guidance, training, and orientation on policies, procedures, techniques, reporting, and all other matters that may arise in the day-to-day operation of the housing/unit(s). Identifies the need for staff professional development Provides positive leadership, guidance and participation with staff, families, health care team members, others in planning and providing client plans, meetings, reports, etc.Initiates investigations related to complaints, accusations by internal or external sources, health and safety concerns etc. Assists in the preparation of housing/unit(s) operating budget. Authorizes expenditures under $200.00, seeks approval above. Prepares, submits, and retains financial records. Ensures the cleanliness, safety, security and maintenance of the house/unit(s) in accordance with licensing and GHS standards either directly or through delegation to staff Ensures housing/unit(s) inventory of supplies are maintained either directly or through delegation to staff Ensures menu is followed and grocery order is submitted weekly either directly or through delegation to staff Performs annual health and safety audits, drills, training etc. as required. Supports organization preparation and participation in CARF. Supports development and review of organizational policies and procedures Participates in JOHSC, Labour Relation, and other meetings as required Maintain a valid driver s license, submit driver s abstract annually Works as a residential worker performing the duties as required Ability to demonstrate effective communication both verbally and written Ability to respond to any emergency that may arise and follow through Able to take instruction from designated, work independently when required and demonstrate initiative Demonstrate clear understanding of Residential Service community Demonstrate awareness of all safety precaution procedures that concern Residential Services, MANDT, or similar training Physically able to carry out the demands of all aspects of the positions Ability to maintain confidentiality First Aid certificate Food Safe certificate Medication Administration certificate an asset Scheduling experience an asset Providing regular reports to their Manager as needed and as requested in a timely manner Performs other duties as required BENEFITS Competitive base salary Medical and dental insurance Vision plan Retirement plan Opportunity for personal and career growth Team oriented environment QUALIFICATIONS Human Services or related experience Class 5 Drivers License (with ability to obtain class 4), own vehicle Supervisory experience in a residential setting an asset.
