As an integral part of our We Care Home Health Services health care team, you will be the Point of Care go-to person, using your nursing judgement to assess and deliver routine and advanced nursing duties in the home or clinic setting. As a Registered Nurse, you will identify problems and implement nursing care plans in conjunction with the client and/or family and other members of the health care team. You will acknowledge and implement the physician's orders with accuracy and within the scope of practice, and manage stressful situations calmly and professionally at all times. This casual position, requires some weekend availability, and offers flexible scheduling as well as a competitive salary, paid mileage, a paid orientation and preceptorship program, and internal professional development training. PRIMARY DUTIES As a Registered Nurse, you will: Arrange and provide excellent nursing care, which may include wound care, IV therapy, palliative care, and tube feeding and medication administration, using your assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, evaluation and health teaching skills. Participate in the on-call/after-hours supervision of the program. Work in the field/community, supporting clients and employees. Work in an office role, completing training, delegation of tasks to care aides, performing service checks, dealing with challenging clients or situations, etc. QUALIFICATIONS To take on the role of Registered Nurse, you must have: Registration as an RN with the College of Nurses of BC and compliance with all applicable laws relating to nursing practice in BC. CPR & First Aid certification, a criminal record check with vulnerable sector screeningExperience in Nursing is an asset Knowledge and experience in medical/surgical procedures. Good communication skills. Effective problem-solving and conflict management skills.Advanced wound care experience, an asset. Knowledge of compression and ostomy care, an asset. Palliative and symptom management knowledge and experience, an asset. Experience in community nursing, an asset. PICC line training, an asset.
