Summit Earthworks Inc. offers competitive salaries, benefits package and room to grow within the company. We are looking for a heavy-duty mechanic to join our growing team and our growing fleet. Responsibilities: Complete inspections on excavators, dozers, loaders, backhoes, crane trucks, highway trucks and trailers for proper performance and inspect all machinery for defaults and malfunctions. Preform preventative maintenance services on all equipment. Repair and replace defective parts and components on all machinery, equipment, hand tools and power tools. Test all repaired equipment to verify manufacturers' specifications are being met. Perform daily routine maintenance on machinery and equipment, including cleaning and lubrication. Service attachments and working tools for heavy equipment. Conduct and document safety checks on company vehicles and equipment. Work in compliance with Summit's health and safety policy and commit to ensuring it is followed every day with proper documentation. Respect and support environmental safety. Able to operate equipment safely to avoid injuries or property damage. Qualifications: Minimum 5+ years' of heavy-duty mechanic experience with excavators, dozers, loaders, packers, backhoes, etc. Must have heavy-duty certification. Must be able to take direction from superiors and work with minimal supervision. A valid driver's license, own transportation to/from work and a current driver's abstract is mandatory. Class 1 is considered an asset. Multi-tasker and ability to work in a team environment. Positive attitude and be physically fit with the ability to lift up to minimum 50lbs. Diesel engine, hydraulic, electrical and air brake system expertise required. Any additional training and safety tickets will be considered an asset.
