Health and Safety Field Coordinator 
HEALTH SAFETY FIELD COORDINATOR Seasonal, Field Based Seabridge Gold Inc. is seeking an experienced Health and Safety Field Coordinator (seasonal, field based) for our KSM Project from April to October 2021. This team member will be responsible for assisting our employees and contractors maintain a healthy and safe work environment. The KSM Project is a proposed gold/copper mine, located 65 kilometres northwest of the town of Stewart, B.C. Job Responsibilities Include: Develop, implement, and review health and safety plans, policies, and procedures to reduce the risk of workplace accidents and injuries. Monitor and be involved in procurement of the required Personal Protective Equipment to be distributed to employees and contractors to their personnel as prescribed by legislation. Provide training and resources to personnel relating to best practices for health and safety. Inspect, analyze, and audit on-site safety practices. Offer recommendations and/or take immediate corrective actions. Conduct the investigation of health and safety incidents to determine the root cause and implement corrective actions, as necessary. Conduct emergency preparedness and other related drills. Collect, analyze and manage industrial health, safety and field data. Encourage ownership and accountability to employees and contractors to increase health and safety awareness. Apply methods to measure and recognize progress in safety stewardship and regulatory compliance. Attend toolbox meetings and routinely communicate expectations with a focus on continued improvement for personnel health and safety. Regularly review and be familiar with all applicable regulations, acts, codes, legislation, and standards and ensure compliance. Review and train employees and contractors implementing task specific operating procedures. Qualifications and Experience: BC CSS/NCSO is the minimum level of qualification. Minimum of 3 years in a health and safety role. Minimum of 5 years in a mining or heavy industrial environment. Considerable experience implementing and supporting safety programs, workplace inspections, audits, and incident investigations. Demonstrate experience to interpret and apply relevant regulations and legislation (Mines Act, WorkSafe BC Occupational Health and Safety Regulations and Guidelines) Able to engage, challenge, and reinforce leader accountability for health and safety where leader behaviour does not meet expectations. Experienced in project and field risk management. Experience and training in responding to serious incidents and the investigation of those incidents. Demonstrated ability to work in a camp-based environment: 3-week camp rotation, up to 12 hours per day. Valid Occupational First Aid. Proficient with MS Office software (Word, Excel, Office PowerPoint) Valid Canadian Driver Licence. Legally entitled to work in Canada.
