Emergency Operations Manager 
NAK AZDLI WHUT EN JOB POSTING Emergency Operations Manager The Emergency Operations Manager (EOM) shall be responsible for emergency planning, preparedness, response and recovery activities, including OHS for the Nak azdli administration and its departments. The Emergency Operations Manager shall coordinate Nak azdli Whut en s overarching emergency preparedness and response strategies and related operational plans. This is a high responsibility position that works with considerable independence of judgement in meeting overall strategic objectives and operational requirements. Duties Responsibilities: Responsible for the development of high-level plans to direct the core components of the emergency management program including public education, emergency operations centre activation, staff/volunteer training and emergency planning and preparedness. Responsible for the planning, management and implementation of Operation Health Safety (OH S) for the entire Nak azdli administration and all it s departments. Facilitates meetings, communications and relationships between various stakeholders, partners, response agencies, municipal departments, Provincial and Federal departments, NGO s etc. Responds to all emergency events and disasters, fires, landslides, flooding, earthquakes, hazardous material spills etc. Develops emergency response structures and standard operating procedures. Manages, coordinates and administers grant applications as necessary. Identifies appropriate emergency preparedness training requirements and arranges appropriate training as necessary for staff, volunteers and others. Coordinates the emergency operations centre (EOC) in a declared state of emergency. Preferred Qualifications: High school diploma plus other related academic training or education Knowledge of emergency management in British Columbia and in a First Nations context. Superior interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate and negotiate with different stakeholders in both collaborative and adversarial settings, sometimes under significant time or resource constraints, is essential. Ability to function effectively in emergency situations and make decisions with limited information available, as well as manage and direct others in crisis situations. OH S Certification, Amateur radio license, First Aid, CPR AED certification. Provide a clear Criminal Record Check Valid BC Class 5 Driver s license.
