Community Relations Specialist Grieg Seafood BC Ltd. Campbell River, BC - Relocation Assistance Offered
Grieg Seafood BC Ltd., a dynamic and growing company in the Aquaculture industry, is seeking to hire a full-time Community Relations Specialist, based in Campbell River, BC.
Reporting to the Director of a new division, First Nations Community Relations, they will support the activities of the companys community relations and corporate giving functions.
They have accountability for contributing to the development and implementation of a social licence plan which reflects the companys commitment to building trusted First Nations and stakeholder relationships and a respected reputation where Grieg operates its salmon farms and hatchery.
Key Responsibilities Represent the company at stakeholder events, sponsored events and public functions. Identify and create stories, information pieces and articles about the company and the aquaculture sector to raise awareness drive traffic to the companys social media sites. Manage corporate giving activities and maintain relationships to ensure that donation recipients have a positive awareness of the company and its contributions. Develop and oversee approved communications tactics, identify stakeholder invitees to special events and assist with implementing new opportunities to build community awareness and reputation.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Proficient in Microsoft communication tools, WordPress content management system and web publishing tools; familiar with or knowledge of Project Management tools. Willingness to travel including to remote communities - valid BC drivers licence (class 5) Willingness to work occasional irregular hours.
Training, Education and Experience Diploma or University Degree in communications, community and media relations, publicity and public engagement or equivalent. Minimum four years of direct experience in community or stakeholder relations management Demonstrated experience coordinating public events, workshops and meetings. Demonstrated experience maintaining successful collaborative working relationships. Demonstrated experience executing diverse communications tactics. Knowledge of aquaculture sector an asset. Knowledge of First Nations issues and engagement experience an asset.
