Esk'etemc works collaboratively with a wellness team that combines social, health, education, justice and children and families for a coordinated and holistic health approach. We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Speech Pathologist to advance family and community healing while combining professional training with Esk'etemc traditions and culture. Summary of duties: Collaborate with family and key people in a child's life to assess the need for intervention and to establish a service plan based on those needs Collaborating with school teams to support language goals in the curriculum (e.g. team teaching, I.E.P. adaptations and modi?cations) Communicating with parents to discuss their child's progress and methods of creating an atmosphere conducive to good communication Support parents to provide parent-implemented interventions using varied service deliveries to families (group therapy, individual sessions, parent training programs, workshops) Evaluate client's skills and progress on a regular basis using standardized tests as appropriate * Maintain client and agency documentation as required Participate in interagency and agency meetings as required * Work with other community service providers and professionals to coordinate services for families Quali?cations: Current full registration with the College of Speech and Hearing Professionals of British Columbia Knowledge of speech language pathology diagnostic and the therapeutic principals, procedures and approaches and clinical best practices relevant to the school population Knowledge of early child development, adult learning and principles of family centered service Strong interpersonal and communication skills Criminal records check * Current valid BC drivers license Start date: January 10, 2018 Hours: to be determined, ?exibility is an asset Salary: $32.00 to $40.00 per hour Closing date: January 4, 2018 by 4 pm Please send your Resume, Cover Letter, with three (03) professional work references attention to: Patricia Chelsea, Managing Director By email: managingdirector@esketemc.ca By facsimile: 250-440-5614 By mail: P.O.
