Reporting to the Director of Development Services, the Chief Building Official will be part of the city's management team and will be responsible for all activities of building inspection, including plan checks, inspections and policy development. This position will be a key leader in developing future capacity within the department to continue providing building inspection services to the city as well as to other local governments. The ideal candidate will have:Level III Certification from the Building Officials Association of BC (BOABC)Level II Plumbing certificationWETT certificationDemonstrated sound knowledge of the Building Act, BC Building Code, Local Government Act, Community Charter, applicable fire regulations, public health requirements, and municipal bylaws and regulationsA valid Class 5 BC Drivers' Licence is required See our website www.quesnel.ca for a full job description.
