Senior Metallurgist Reference No: 2019-1566 Date Posted: 8/15/2019 Location: Mount Milligan, BC, Canada Position Type: Fulltime Located 150km northwest of Prince George BC, Mount Milligan will be British Columbia s first major metal mine of this century. Construction began in mid-2010 with commercial production projected for the latter part of 2013. Mount Milligan is wholly owned subsidiary of Centerra Gold Inc. and is currently recruiting the following position. Senior Metallurgist As the Senior Metallurgist the key objectives of the role is to provide technical support to the Mill Operations group and drive deliver on Metallurgical projects. This role reports to one of the Chief Metallurgist. Duties/Responsibilities Ensuring that all employees work safely and in accordance with applicable legislation, company policy, standards, and procedures Monitoring plant performance, identifying sources of variability and making recommendations for improvement Conducting investigations, test work and technical projects to maintain performance or to identify opportunities to exceed targets Maintaining quality control programs within the plant and onsite laboratories Supervising and developing technical staff through coaching and training; budgeted workforce includes metallurgists, metallurgical technicians, and students Skills / Experience / Education Bachelor s Degree in Mineral Processing, Metallurgical Engineering, or Chemical Engineering 8-10 years of experience in mineral processing, preferably with comminution and copper gold flotation experience Demonstrated ability to work safely Leadership and interpersonal skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong computer skills, including high proficiency in Microsoft Office software Working knowledge of JK SimMet and Minitab considered an asset Strong communication, organizational, and team building skills Integrity, focus, and a good work ethic Proven ability to analyze problems, prioritize issues, and develop timely and cost-effective solutions We thank all applicants for their interest; however only candidates selected for an interview will be contacted.
