Residence Worker 
The Residence Worker will develop pro-social relationships with all people in care and implement interventions/engagement consistent with established service plans. Residence workers will work within and contribute to a trauma-informed and holistic (bio-psycho-social-spiritual-cultural) framework of care. About the Job The Residence Worker will ensure the safety and physical and emotional well-being of people in care. He, she or they will support the therapeutic, recreational and learning activities led by the clinical team, and contribute to the effective operation of the home. The Residence Worker will support the house routines and chores, and ensure the home remains welcoming, safe and comfortable for all residents. The position requires a flexible schedule that will include weekends, overnights and evenings. About You Education Diploma in Human Services Experience 2-3 years experience in a group care environment Knowledge and experience working with adults, youth and families Training and experience in substance use and mental health Skills Ability to engage and interact appropriately with people Excellent time management and problem solving skills Ability to work independently and as a team Confidence and ability to manage crisis and to work in a potentially stressful environment Ability to contribute to and work within a culturally inclusive environment Conditions of Offer Applicants will provide three references, Driver s Abstract and a Criminal Record and/or Vulnerable Sector Check. Within one month of employ, incumbent will secure FoodSafe and Standard First Aid Certification and be trained to administer Naloxone and medications. Within six months, incumbent will provide evidence of completion of Non-Violent Crisis Intervention and Trauma Informed Care and secure a Class 4 driver s license. Costs incurred for training/certifications not provided in-house will be reimbursed by the employer.
