This is Vancouver Island at its best! Marquise Hospitality is currently looking for 1 st Cooks Shifts: Monday to Sunday inclusive Start Date: Open Until Filled. General Description: To prepare meals for residents and to ensure overall quality and presentation of the food. Specific Responsibilities Duties: Preparation and cooking of all components of the meal. Follow the recipes/menu provided. Ensure overall quality and presentation of the food is tasty and visually appealing. Plate meals including snacks, desserts and salads. Ensure meals are served on time. Cleaning and sanitizing all work surfaces and equipment used. Be aware of any, and follow restricted dietary needs of residents. Restock work areas and ensure proper stock rotation. Ensure kitchen cleanliness as per cleaning schedule. Complete required HACCP and production logs. Assist with scheduling and staff replacement. Assist in planning special event menus. Maintain safe work environment at all times. Perform duties as per health and safety guidelines. Other reasonable requests from management. Qualifications: Previous 3+ years of cooking experience, preferably in the Hotel and Restaurant industry. Cook certification/papers is considered an asset. Food Safe Certificate. High School Diploma. Positive attitude and strong work ethic. Able to work independently and as part of a team. Able to communicate with mangers, residents, and other employees. Important note: **A satisfactory Criminal Record Check is a condition of employment.
