Our Advanced Care Paramedics (ACP) are an integrated and essential part of our provincial service delivery model. Work close to home, or consider a new community for a lifestyle change: ACPs are currently focused in cities such as the greater Vancouver area, Victoria, Nanaimo, Prince George, Kelowna and Kamloops. ACPs also support the Community Paramedicine program, Paramedic Specialist Program and have the opportunity to train and grow internally as Critical Care Paramedics. What you ll do ACP professionals provide advanced clinical care to the acutely injured as well as complex primary and urgent care patients. They provide clinical leadership on complex calls and maintain a progressive scope of practice to manage a variety of patient presentations. Every shift is guaranteed to be different, but you can expect to: Provide patient care in out of hospital emergency and urgent situations, using critical thinking and safe work practices at all times. Advocate for patients through effective communication with colleagues, allied health care professionals and emergency service partners. Provide clinical leadership and support to the patient care teams. Identify issues and strategies to address complex program or system-wide issues which will enhance service delivery and patient care supported by our BCEHS research agenda. Collaborate with health care teams in addressing appropriate patient care needs which may result in non-conveyance What you bring Current ACP license to practice in the province of British Columbia (or able to obtain) Class 1, 2 or 4 BC driver's license (or able to obtain) Work permit for Canada (or able to obtain) Current driver's abstract (driving record) Minimum two years ACP working experience with demonstrable practice experiences To Apply We anticipate vacancies throughout the coming months, and at this time, we ask qualified and interested applicants to submit a current resume, cover letter and copies of licenses to this posting. Career Growth Opportunities Upon successful completion of their probation and orientation, internal ACP applicants may apply for application to our Critical Care Transport (CCT) and Paramedic Specialist (PS) programs. The BCEHS CCT Program provides specialized, emergency patient care and transport for critically ill or injured patients across the province, from air bases in six urban centres. The PS are an integrated part of our clinical hub in our patient care and communications centre and provide clinical, high risk hazard and complex primary and urgent care support throughout the province.
